TCP/IP model

  1. The Internet model consists of 5 Layers.
  2. The process to process delivery of the entire message is the responsibility of the transport layer.
  3. The physical layer is the layer closest to the transmission medium.
  4. Mail services are available to network users through application layer.
  5. As the data packets move from upper to lower layer data packets are added.
  6. The transport layer lies between the application layer and network layer.
  7. Layer 2 lies between the network layer and physical layer.
  8. When data is transmitted from A to B, the header of A’s layer 4 is read by B’s layer 4 (Transport layer)
