Tell me something about yourself

The very first question that the interviewer might ask is "Tell me something about yourself". Almost 80% of the interviews start with this. The question seems easy but there are a  lot of traps.

Many of the candidates are unprepared for this question and start rambling, recapping their life story which the interviewer is not looking for. The candidate must always start with the present and tell why he/she is well qualified for the position.

Things to consider - Always remember that the key to all successful interviewing is to match the skills/qualification to what interviewer is looking for as it is like selling yourself.
